Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale) men’s varsity basketball team played at the American Airlines Arena on December 8th and defeated Miami Norland 63-62 in the Hoophall Basketball Challenge. The next night they defeated perennial 5A power Blanche Ely 66-65.

The team, 2016 state runner-up, with an early 8-0 record, has early season victories over Coral Gables, Northeast, and University. The men’s cross-country team won the State 1A Championship during Coach Ken Key’s 43rd season at WA.
